Character dance is a specific style of classical dance. It is the stylized representation of a traditional folk or national dance and can include many different National styles from Russia & European countries to Asian countries.  The dance styles include and use movements and music which have been adapted for the theatre. Character dance is integral to much of the classical ballet repertoire and is studied in all major ballet companies. 

Character Classes are now offered to all ballet students and compulsory for Performance Class students.
